Reviews
“Excellent experience, started with a buffet dinner, then commenced with guided tour of the park with our host Tracy, We saw Koala, Kangaroo's and lots of other annals, we then saw an aboriginal dance show, followed by the rest of the park. We got a hands on experience with many of animals too! Overall this was fantastic value and I would recommended it to anyone.”
“I never knew that so many of the animals at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary had a secret night side to their personalities. It was great to experience the different feel to the park of a night time and to enjoy a tasty traditional Australian buffet dinner. The Aboriginal dancers were great to watch and I also really enjoyed getting to hold a baby snake. Jamie didn’t so much as enjoy the snake but he braved his fears anyway (the photo is priceless). I would recommend people coming and experiencing Currumbin at night because it really is something else from what you witness during the day.”
“Wildnight at Currumbin is a wildlife experience unlike any other! I have visited zoos in many countries and even others within Australia and never have I enjoyed such an interactive experience before. The first animals I got to meet were a mini crocodile and a snake, both of which the keepers let me to hold and take photos with! While professional photos are also taken, the staff was happy to let the group snap shots with our personal cameras as well.
I appreciated being placed in relatively small tour groups (there was about 15 in ours). This meant we could openly ask our tour guide questions and receive informative responses; there was also always easy viewing of the animals; and, later in the tour, it is also meant we each had tons of kangaroos to hand feed! Another unique element of this tour is, of course, its being at night; I have never seen koalas and kangaroos so active!
Beyond the wildlife, the company does a great job of making it a full night out. The evening begins with a tasty buffet; they offer something for any craving, including beef, fish, chicken, pasta, potatoes, vegetables, salads, and a dessert spread. If you arrive on time, there is plenty of time to make multiple trips to the buffet, so come hungry! Also, part way through the tour, we watched an Aboriginal corroboree by the fire and listened to a talented artist play a didgeridoo. They granted us another photo opportunity here, posing with the dancers. Overall, it is not an experience I will soon forget!

“I wasn’t sure what to think when I first heard this was a nighttime tour. How much will you really be able to see at night anyway? However, I was pleasantly surprised to learn that you can actually see more in the dark!
I had seen kangaroos, koalas, tasmanian devils, and wombats before, but seeing them at night was like actually seeing them for the first time. Who knew Koalas actually moved so much! It was such an incredible experience to see all of these animals so alive. The only thing better was how intimate and interactive the experience was. We were able to hold and pet many animals that you would normally only be able to watch from a far (sleeping no less). The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable and provided us with the answers to all our questions. Rather than having a scripted story regurgitated back to us, our questions fueled the information that was provided to us. The flow of information was guided by our questions—it was like having our personal experts to answer our every curiosity.
We were able to hold a baby salt water croc, wrap a snake around our head, meet a barking owl and gaze upon the largest snake in captivity in all of Australia, a python named Maximus. All the while, we were not only able to take our own photos (along with the professional photos), but we were actually encouraged to do so.
Lastly, as if everything I have mentioned wasn’t enough, the night began with an exceptional all you can eat buffet, and concluded with a cup of hot chocolate and snack. I can honestly say, this was my favourite of any zoo experience! A Gold Coast must see!
One little tip, you may want to bring a torch with you, just be sure not to shine it in those sensitive nocturnal eyes!
